Products covered by the program are berries - strawberry, raspberry, currants and blueberries. Were promoted the nutritional benefits of these fruits and a positive effect on health.
The total budget approved by the decision of the European Commission is EUR 3 990 232.00 net. The program is implemented under the mechanism "Support of promotional and information activities on the markets of selected agricultural products" and is financed in 50% from European Union funds, and in 30% from the national budget. The remaining 20% of own contribution was obtained from the funds of the Fruit and Vegetable Promotion Fund.
The campaign was carried out by The Association of Polish Fruit Growers voluntary association acting on behalf of and for the best interests of Polish Fruit Growers. The Association was established in May 1999 and formed on the initiative of fruit growers from the Grójec region, the largest fruit growing region in Poland, often referred to as the "The Largest Orchard in Europe”. The members of the Association of Polish Fruit Growers and Partner Organisations specialising mainly in the cultivation of strawberries, highbush blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, apples, chokeberry, sweet cherry, pears, gooseberries and sour cherries.
